IGUAZU FALLS NATURAL WONDER

IGUAZU FALLS NATURAL WONDER

One of the most recommended tours from Pointer Outfitters is to visit The Iguazu Falls. Situated in the Iguazú National Park, the Iguazú falls are shared with Brazil and there has been five years since they were chosen one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World in a contest that placed them in a site of privilege.

The Iguazu River runs through a smooth geography until it reaches a series of faults, after that it goes through an 80 meters canyon called the Devil’s Throat where the water produces a thundering sound, then it drains into the Parana River.

Europeans, North Americans and Asians, arrived to Argentina to be emptied of that natural beauty and to feel on the skin the fine drizzle of the 275 jumps of the falls,  the Iguazú river is  surrounded by different shades of greens and multicolored butterflies.

Today, four out of ten visitors are from other nationalities. Since it was elected as a new natural wonder, the Falls did not fail to exceed one million annual visitors, something that had only happened three times in all its history as an Argentine tourist icon.

The Falls received 6,390,000 visitors, of which 2,590,000 (40.5%) were foreigners and the remaining 3,800,000 tourists came from Argentina.

If you haven’t made up your mind yet, here are some interesting facts about this awesome destination:

The rain-forest delta surrounding the falls boasts a whopping 2,000 species of plants.

Iguazu Waterfalls are second only to Victoria Waterfalls in size. However, in terms of beauty, none of the other waterfalls in the world can come close to compete.

There is a scenic rainbow formed on the waterfalls caused by the refraction of light against the mist caused by thundering waters.

If you decide to take a few days to get to know something about Argentina, and if you are a nature buff and have never visited Iguazu, this one of a lifetime adventure is something that we strongly recommend.
